I have encountered a Shadow Person in my apartment. It was several years ago and I was wide awake and not tired so I know it wasn't some random "corner of the eye" shadow movement.

I also have a ghost cat that I have seen for many years in the same apartment.

Was supposed to meet [info]blue_mochi in town today for lunch and like a muppet I forgot. Thankfully it was a bus ride into town. Had lunch (or breakfast for me) and a nice chat. We don't get to do it often enough.

Spend the rest of the afternoon round the folks talking to them and my nephew Benjo (his birthday today) before heading home and playing Lord of the Rings Online for the evening.

Tomorrow (assuming I can get a decent night's sleep) will be more hosuework. I wasn't going to do a new years resolution but I've decided that this year I need to sort the house out proper, junk most of my stuff and try to keep it that way. Now if I just stop the place smelling of cat food I'd be happy.

Today at the shop we had a multiplayer Magic tournament. Simon and Andy ended up on equal points and decided to share victory. Unfortunately I seem to have misplaced all my decks so I didn't play.

Looking forward to tonight. We're back round Jayson's for the continuation of his Pathfinder campaign. Looking forward to it. To be honest it is nice to be a player again.

Despite being somewhat broke (thank you all the bills who thought it would a good idea to take it all between Christmas and New Years!) I decided that I needed to get out the house. My mate Wiggy was playing a rare (they play all over the world now) local Blues Brothers gig so perfect opportunity to get out and have a sing along.

I really need to get out more often.

It felt reallyt good being back at Primarchs again tonight. A month break over Christmas worked well. We had a decent number of people turn out and lots of Warhammer and Magic being played.

As expected I lost my Warhammer match but not as I thought I would. Good game though.

Tonight we're back at the Bridge Pub for the first Primarchs meet up of 2011. Hopefully we'll get a decent number of players turn up after the break. I have my Warhammer Fantasy campaign match against [info]stormwytch and I'm looking forward to it. I'll die horridly because I really haven't thought about the game over the break and can't remember half my rules.

I also need to start checking out who is playing in the upcoming fixed list 1500pt Warhammer 40K event starting in early February.

You We

How do you think aliens would regard our society? If an alien ship landed in your backyard, would you run away or bring a bundt cake?

I think they would view as presently as self-destructive and paranoid. I don't think they would see us as conquest material, natural resources or food either. They would probably (and I suspect currently do) watch and monitor us until such time as we were ready to accept them. I don't think we're far off that but we need to drop the intolerance to one another before we're worthy of encountering our interstellar neighbours.

Cthulhu

I finished reading this the other night. I had bought it on the hopes that it was a nice mix of Lovecraftian horror and good old film noir detective stories. I was very very wrong. There are a couple good stories in there that do follow that mix but for the majority they were tongue in cheek or even just down right comedic, neither of which I was after. One such story was worth the time, Eldritch Fellas, in which we find out that the Great Old Ones and Outer Gods are not just eldritch horrors but are in fact Italian mafia, and the Elder Gods are the Feds. It was well written and just bizarre enough to work. But it was not what I wanted. The book was a dissapointment when it could have been so much better.
Rating: 2/5.

New Years was the same old pants. Spent the evening playing Lord of the Rings Online before grabbing some snacks and beer for the last hour or so of 2010. Saw 2011 in. Went to bed and read for an hour.
New Years is always a dissapointment for me. Years ago everyone held parties. Gary's were some of the best around. But slowly everyone stopped having them. At least this year wasn't so lonely depressing like they used to be.

Yesturday [info]eidolon_uk opened the shop as usual and the guys played some Magic and a couple board games. I took over the evening snce our regualr roleplay session wasn't on, and I ran Pathfinder/D&D with a module conversion of the old Fighting Fantasy game book Deathtrap Dungeon. Took them six hours but they did it. Good fun.
